“Open” gets used loosely, so here’s the line we actually draw.
Most livestock data lives inside one vendor’s app, in a format you can’t export, on a contract you can’t leave. When you stop paying, your history goes with it. We think that’s backwards.
What we open
The data and the ways you build on it: a public API, webhooks, an open event schema, and CSV/Parquet export. Configurable sample rates. Send everything to your own backend, dashboard, or research pipeline—or use ours. It’s your call.
What we control
The device. A cattle tag has to be weatherproof, animal-safe, radio-certified, and able to survive years on solar. That’s not the place for open firmware—it’s the place for reliability. So we control the hardware and open the data.
Open data and integrations. Ranch-grade hardware. That’s the whole idea.
